1. Providing a safe, supportive environment
2. Encouraging an active, healthy lifestyle
3. Building positive life skills
4. Developing knowledge of nature and the environment

Camp Structure

Each camp is designed around a weekly theme. Camp themes and activities vary each year. Campers will explore the outdoors, unleash their creativity, and release their energy! They'll enjoy age appropriate games, sports, art projects, nature exploration, and more.

Camps are held weekly for 1/2 day. (9am - noon, Monday through Thursday). Participants may attend a single camp or multiple camps.

Camps are offered for three separate age groups: 1) entering Kindergarten 2) entering 1st through 5th grade 3) entering 6th through 8th grade.

Staff

Deerfield Parks and Recreation Camps are staffed through the Deerfield Parks and Recreation Department.

All camp counselors are at least 18 years of age and undergo a background check and drug screening.

Camp Counselors attend mandatory training prior to the start of camp, which includes First Aid/CPR Certification.

Medical Conditions (Allergies, Medications, etc)

Your child's safety is important to us. Please be sure to include all medical conditions (ex: allergies, asthma, dietary restrictions, medications) that you feel we should be aware of on your child's account information. This will be pulled into your child's registration so that our staff may review it prior to camp.

Changes made on your account to your child's medical information must be made by the Wednesday prior to camp. Please notify the Camp Director if you make a change after the Wednesday prior to camp so that our rosters can be updated.

Deerfield Township staff are not permitted to administer medication. If your child needs medication during program hours, staff may hold the medication until the child asks for it. A completed Summer Camp Medication Form must be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the first day of camp.

Deerfield Township values all children. If your child needs special assistance during program hours, please speak with our Camp Director prior to registration so that we may work together to determine feasible accommodations and to ensure a positive experience for your child.
