We all deal with anxiety and depression in our daily lives, but for some of us those feelings can be overwhelming. Join us to explore some common strategies to lessen their effects and determine for yourself if you need a hand to feel better!
Vaping: What the Big Deal?
While tobacco smoking rates among teens and young adults are declining, the number of kids vaping is rising exponentially. What is the appeal for teenagers and what can it do to teenagers bodies and minds? Join us for a revealing look at the vaping phenomenon and learn strategies to talk with your teen about its effects.
The Power on One Caring Adult in the Life of a Child
More the two-thirds of children reported at least one traumatic event by the age of 16. Potentially traumatic events could include: Childhood physical or sexual abuse, community or school violence, witnessing domestic violence in the home, or experience dating abuse as a teen. This presentation will discuss the statistics and realities of trauma youth are experiencing, how they respond to that trauma, but most importantly, how you as a caring adult can change the life of that child!
Ending the Silence: What We (Mis)Understand about Mental Illness
Using stories and group discussion, you will learn what the stigma of mental illness feels like - and how to talk more about it. The goal is to create a generation of individuals who are well-positioned to end the silence and stigma surrounding mental illness.
