Outdoor Education Series

More of us are realizing the importance of our choices regarding the environment. To be better stewards of our planet, there are actions and decisions that we can make to limit our negative impact on the Earth. In this workshop, we will explore ways to limit our impact on the planet by "going green". We will explore different rooms in the home and share sustainable products and practices you can incorporate. All participants will receive a FREE sustainability starter kit that includes a Swedish dishcloth, a glass straw, and a bamboo soap holder to take home with you (thanks to funding from the Warren County Solid Waster Management District)! Join Laura Stanton, Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Educator and Nature Nerd, for a relaxing stroll around Kingswood Park. This will be a slow and peaceful walk with the opportunity to soak up lots of Vitamin N(ature), which is shown to be beneficial to your overall health and wellbeing. Fall weather is hard to predict, so dress appropriately. We'll leave the Activity Center at 9:00 AM and return by 11:00 AM. Please join us for a health y dose of fresh air, nature, and friends! These walks will be held rain or shine.

Birding is a wonderful way to spend time outdoors and reap the health benefits of nature. Presently, over 47 million people in the US consider themselves birders. If you are a novice birder or would like to become a birder, please join Laura Stanton, OSU Extension Educator, for an informative and educational workshop to help you get started. After the short workshop, we will head outside to test our skills!
