Deerfield Township has partnered with naturalist Shannon Pennington, and the OSU Warren County Extension to provide a series of presentations educating us on wildlife in our area, as well as topics such as gardening, rain gardens, yard maintenance, and more.

Coyotes in Our Community
  • Learn about one of Ohio's most misunderstood mammals, the eastern coyote, with Warren County naturalist and permitted wildlife rehabilitator, Shannon Pennington
  • FREE community event, open to all
  • 45 minute presentation followed by Q&A session
  • Get a close up view with a taxidermy coyote mount and pelt
  • All ages welcome

Suburban Wildlife Encounters
  • Learn about wildlife you may find in your backyard with Warren County Park District staff naturalist and permitted wildlife rehabilitator, Shannon Pennington
  • This is a FREE community event
  • Appropriate for all ages
  • Learn how to humanely evict wildlife, what is normal animal behavior and when to intervene
  • 45 minute PowerPoint presentation followed by Q&A

Small Space Vegetable Gardening
No Space? No problem? During this session, we will teach you how to grow vegetables in containers and raised beds. We will discuss which vegetables work best and strategies for managing your crops for a bountiful harvest.
