Gather with us to create Fairy/Gnome home accessories for families to use during the free Fairy/Gnome Home Building Event in June.

Volunteer Opportunity Description
  • Volunteer with us to create accessories for Fairy/Gnome Homes - twig windows, popsicle stick doors, miniature garden signs, tiny twine rope ladders, etc.
  • The accessories that you create will be kept by the Township and used during the free Fairy/Gnome Home Building community event in June. (Homes built during the June event will be on display in the July Fairy/Gnome Trails.)
  • The Township will provide a variety of materials for volunteers to use in creating the accessories. (popsicle sticks, polymer clay, natural materials, glue, paint, etc.)
  • Accessories created during this volunteer opportunity are the property of the Township. Accessories are not taken home or given to volunteers.
  • No experience is necessary - just a desire to get creative and serve the community!
  • Light refreshments will be provided.

Step #1: Registration
  • Registration Starts February 1st!
  • Register online as a volunteer and help us create Fairy/Gnome Home accessories.
  • Please take your registration all the way through invoicing. You will not be charged; it will be a $0 value invoice.
  • Please check your email for a registration confirmation. It will come from noreply@receipts.myrecdepartment.com.

Step #2: Gather with Us to Create!
  • Join us at the Snyder House on Tuesday, March 29th from 9am - 11:00am.
  • The Township will provide a variety of materials for creating Fairy/Gnome Home accessories.
  • Volunteers will design and create family friendly Fairy/Gnome home accessories such as popsicle stick doors, twig windows, tree bark signs, etc. (No sales, political, vulgar, or offensive content allowed.)
  • All accessories should be sized for small Fairy/Gnome Homes (gallon milk jug sized house or smaller)
  • Please note that items created by volunteers will be kept by the Township; we'll be putting them out for families to use in creating their homes during the June Fairy/Gnome Home Building Event.

Step #3: View Fairy/Gnome Homes on Display (Optional)
  • We appreciate your creative contribution to the Fairy/Gnome Trails!
  • See if you can find your accessories in use by visiting the Fairy/Gnome Home Trails from July 8th-13th in Deerfield parks.
