Share your artistic side with the community by painting a plastic bowling pin for the Minion Madness activities that will take place for our July Movie in the Park!
Volunteer Opportunity Description
- Volunteer to design and paint a 15" plastic bowling pin to look like a "minion". (Bowling pins will be used this summer during our Minion Madness before the July Movie in the Park.)
- Volunteers, ages 14 and up, may select to paint a single bowling pin or up to 3 bowling pins.
- Bowling pins remain the property of the Township.
- Design/painting must be family-friendly. (No sales, political, vulgar, or offensive content allowed.)
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Pick up the bowling pin at the Township Office during normal business hours, February 14th - 18th.
- Provide the acrylic paint, brushes, etc. needed for painting. (Bowling pins will already be primed.)
- Design and paint the bowling pin(s) to look like a "minion" (like from the Despicable Me movies).
- Please use at least two to three thin coats of acrylic paint as these will be used outside and for actual bowling.
- Return the painted bowling pin(s) by March 7th to the Township Office during normal business hours.
Community Service Hours
- Students volunteering for community service may earn up to 3 service hours per bowling pin painted and returned.
- To ensure credit for your service hours, please register the student (not the parent) for this activity.

Step #1: Registration
- Registration Starts January 1st!
- Register online to volunteer and reserve 1-3 bowling pins to paint.
- Please take your registration all the way through invoicing. You will not be charged; it will be a $0 value invoice.
- Please check your email for a registration confirmation. It will come from noreply@receipts.myrecdepartment.com.
Step #2: Bowling Pin Pick-Up
- Pick up your bowling pin(s) between February 14-18, 2022 at the Deerfield Township Administration Office.

Step #3: Design & Paint!
- After you pick up the primed bowling pin(s), get creative!
- The bowing pin(s) should be painted to look like a "minion" - google "Minion Bowling Pin" for inspiration :)
- Design and paint the bowling pin(s) in the comfort of your own home.
- Don't forget to return the painted bowling pin(s) by Monday, March 7th!
Step #4: Return Painted Bowling Pin(s)
- Return the bowling pin(s) to the Deerfield Township Administration Office by Monday, March 7, 2022.

Step #5: View Bowling Pins in Use (Optional)
- Join us at Cottell Park during "Minion Madness" before the July 22nd Movie in the Park.
- Bowling Pins will be used in game stations near the Snyder House.
